These much-needed shields have been donated to more than 300 NHS hospitals, care homes, GPs, pharmacies and hospices around London by Cameron Design House. These include Great Ormond Street, Royal London, Royal Free, Watford General, King’s College, Homerton, Royal Surrey, East Surrey, Ealing, Hillingdon and Basildon hospitals to name a few.
“Converting our production in our St John’s Wood workshop from making a handful of sculptural chandeliers a month to 30,000 face shields for the NHS has been as rewarding as it has been challenging. We never dreamed that this project would gain the momentum it has, we started this project by making a few shields after work for a local hospital but as word spread demand soared and we have been doing everything we can to keep up since.
None of this would have been possible without the extreme generosity of our donors and volunteers. We now have an army of people assembling shields at homes around London. It has been amazing how so many people have rallied round at this time of need. We feel very humbled to be able to help out even if our efforts are just a drop in the ocean when compared to the incredible work of the NHS and caregivers up and down the country.“ - Simeon Chilvers, Managing Director of Cameron Design House
Thank you to everyone for their unbelievable support in helping to make this project possible, we couldn't have done it without you all!
