A Lookback at Highlights of London Design Festival 2018 ~ CDH x Geronimo & more

agosto 05, 2019

WITH JUST OVER A MONTH TO GO UNTIL THIS YEAR'S LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL, WE DECIDED TO TAKE A LOOKBACK AT SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST YEAR INCLUDING OUR CDH X GERONIMO INSTALLATION.

CDH x Geronimo for London Design Festival

CDH x Geronimo

We team up with the incredible balloon artist Geronimo to create an immersive installation, as part of London Design Fair. The installation showcased our Helmi chandeliers, made up of hand-blown glass pearls and steel net frames, amongst a sea of balloons.

In the 'Pink Room' we installed our iconic Haara pendant with cylindrical lanterns assembled from hand-drawn glass and polished brass concealing the lighting element.

The CDH x Geronimo installation was one of the talking points of the whole festival and we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for coming.

2LG Studio x Capsule Collection

2LG Studio

After meeting the previous Spring in Milan, Cameron Design House's directors Ian and Simeon joined forces with design duo 2LG Studio to design the Capsule collection, launched during London Design Festival 2018.

The collection is available in three variations called the Capsule Saldo, Keski and Alas. Since launching in September 2018, the Capsule collection has been highly acclaimed in the press, having been featured in Living Etc, House & Garden and Studio magazine to name a few.

Please Feed The Lions by ES. Devlin

The project followed a year-long collaboration between Es Devlin and Google Arts & Culture. Exploring the parameters of design and artificial intelligence, the installation incorporated a deep learning algorithm developed by Ross Goodwin, creative technologist at Google.

Devlin says the idea for the sculpture was prompted by a walk through Trafalgar Square with LDF Chairman Sir John Sorrell during 2017’s Festival. “He said: ‘Landseer never wanted those lions to look so passive; he proposed a much more animated stance, but Queen Victoria found it too shocking.’ The thought lodged in my mind. What if we could invest the lion with a diversely crowd-sourced collective poetic voice?”

Alphabet

 Alphabet London Design Festival

Known for their playful approach to typefaces, Kellenberger–White designed a new series of alphabet chairs as a Landmark Project at Broadgate, supported by Festival Headline Partner British Land.

Visitors were encouraged to explore, interact, move, and make words with the letters, which consist of 26 bespoke colourful alphabet chairs popping up in Finsbury Avenue Square.
